bright vests for offenders call

Summary
In England there are plans to make people, who were in involved in crimes and have to do community services, highly visible. These ‘Criminals’ have to wear bright jackets saying community payback.
The whole idea of the highly visible jackets is that they are being forced to suffer from there own deeds in public. This way of letting ‘criminals’ work in public makes the people aware of the crimes that are solved and the useful deeds that these criminals do to pay back.
In America this way of letting the community see that these criminals are paying there debts has seem to be very useful.

My opinion.
I think it is a good thing to let these people pay there debts back in public to the community. This way they feel embarrassed en will suffer more from the effects of their deeds. An other positive thing is that de community will see the effects of the criminal system with there own eyes. They will feel like the government is putting a lot of effort in bringing these people to court and that their tax money is being well-spend.

England star faces assault charge

Lesley vainikolo is faces an assault charge. Lesley had to go to court for attacking a man outside a pub in Bath. The 25 year old rugby player for Gloucester and England was drinking with some friends when the whole incident take place. Lester had to go to court in the city of Bath for brining bodily harm with intent.
A twenty year old man was send to the hospital with injuries created on the 26 of October by Lesley.

My opinion
I think it is normal for famous people to be treated the same as regular people. Just because they are famous does not mean that they stand above the law. The fact that Lesley used an aggressive form of violence is not tolerable. Many famous people feel that they are able to do more things and get away with it. I feel good about the fact that Lesley is being charged with assault. This proves the correctness of the whole system.

Babygirl born on airplane

Summary
A Urgandan woman has given birth to a baby girl on a flight from Amsterdam to Boston. The woman, who was 8 months pregnant, was in labor in mid air. The flight crew searched for a doctor on board and found two! These doctors helped to woman in labor with giving birth to the little girl. When the woman gave birth to the girl everybody clapped and felt relieved.
The reason why the woman was on the plane is still not clear to the officials at the airport. She said to be traveling with her other child to great a friend in Boston.
Because the little girl was born in Canadian airspace the little girl was given a Canadian passport.

My opinion
Crazy! How on earth is it possible for a women who is 8 months pregnant to book a flight from Amsterdam to Boston? This story could have ended in a big drama. If there was no doctor on board and the woman had some trouble with giving birth to her daughter she could have died. I do not understand why this woman who knew she was pregnant stepped on a plane to visit friends. Not only could the baby die when born, but it could have also be damaged with the great cabin pressure on high altitudes.

Stars call for ceasefire in Gaza

Summary
Singer Annie Lennox is joining a team of famous people who are trying to make their stand about the war in Gaza. The violence in the middle east is continuing for years already. Over 13.000 people in Gaza had to leave their homes since the attacking began.
Lennox said that she is very shocked by footage of the war and of people being killed. The MCB (Brittain’s largest Muslim group) had said that they will not be attending any of the briefings that Lennox is planning because they do not agree. Lennox gave a very emotional speech in which she said that she hopes there will change a lot of things in a positive way.

My opinion
I think it is a great idea that famous people use there famousness to manipulate people in a positive way. There are a lot of people who are really influenced by famous people.
The war in Gaza is a horrible thing and the fact that it gets the attention it needs is very good. More people should be aware of the harm that is done to a lot of other people. When you see the harm done to people on TV. It is a different story than when you see it true the eyes of a real person. The fact that Lennox gets very emotional telling her story is evidence of the impact it has made.

Plane crash in powerlines

Summary
A small plane crashed into some railroad power lines in the UK. The crash has caused great delay because the West coast main linen had to close completely. The two people who were in the small plane are feared to be dead. The railroad services said that traffic is being redirected via Birmingham and Wolverhampton. Jennet Hamings is a eye witness and had seen the whole crash. She said that she had heard a loud noise and then she saw a big cloud of smoke. A policeman said that they found on their arrival a lot of wreckage and pieces of the plane.

My opinion
I think that something as a plane crash can make enormous impact on peoples lives. The fact that the plane crashed is not only harmful for the people on board, but a lot of people on the ground are at risk on health damage or damage in an other way. This plane had hit the power lines of a railway, so many trains were not able to drive and traffic jams were created on the roads.
A lot of money is lost and there were a lot of people at risk.

Schumacher could join Superbikes

Honda said they are ready to offer retired seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher a ride in the 2009 World Superbikes championship. Michael Schumacher is a formula one driver who had won the wolrd races seven times! When Schumacher retired two years ago he said he would not race again. Nowdays he says that racing in the World Superbike championship is just a hobby, but Honda thinks he will be able to make a good effer in the championship.
In contrast to Michael Schumacher, Valentino Rossi (six time world champion in the superbike Championship) is saying he is going to switch to Rally sports.

My oppion about this article is very logical. I think formula one driver Michael Schumacher is perfecly able to addapt to the Motorcycle sports. He is allready used to the fast driving sports and therefor will be able to learn to race on a sportsbike. The only downside to this story is the age Michael Schumacher has. Many GP Motorsports drivers are in the age of 16 to 25. Michael Schumacher is much older than that.

US warned of China 'cyber-spying'

China has stepped up computer espionage against the US government and American businesses, according to an influential Washington congressional panel. China is stealing amounts of information from the United states. The creater of this investigation panel said that the leaking of critical information makes the US very open for other people who have bad intentions. The US government is afraid that China is trying to manipulate the US by using the cyberspace. It alleges that the Chinese are looking for diplomatic and military secrets in government databases, and potentially lucrative industrial secrets held by American corporations.

My oppinion about the 'cyber-spying' is a bit soft. I think the internet and the whole cyberspace is a very open thing and a lot of people are able to get information from it. Because China is a country that has a bit of a background with the US, people are exaggertating the political content that this espionage would bring. The US is, in my oppinion, trying to put china in a bad light. Because of the expanding and more open cyberspace, it is not possible to exstract critical information from the WorldWideWeb.
